What is PAX x EGX?

We are transcending the physical aspects of gaming events and inviting you to join us digitally for PAX Online X EGX Digital, 12 - 20 September happening everywhere. PAX X EGX is the result of the convention-organising supergroup made up of the people responsible for PAX West, PAX Australia, as well as EGX to deliver a steady 24/9 stream of content, events, discussions, and gameplay.

How can I find news about what’s going on?

You can subscribe to our Newsletter, or follow us on your preferred social media for some highlights and updates on what’s happening. We’re on a Facebook, Twitter, Instgram, YouTube, Twitch… you get the idea.

How much will it cost?

Save your gold, your credits and your bells: PAX X EGX is free where all internet connections are had.


24 hour streaming? How does that work?

Oh, did we say 24/7? We actually meant 24/9, because we’re going to be running this virtual shindig for nine straight days, from September 12th through the 20th. With help from us (PAX, PAX Australia and EGX), there will always be something for you to watch.


Where can I watch it?

PAX X EGX will be streaming everywhere we can possibly stream. We recommend watching on this website that you currently are on as it will have all the information you will need.


How can I participate?

Here’s a checklist of what you need to complete your PAX X EGX quest:

- A solid internet connection from 12-20 September

- Take a long look at the hundreds of hours of content lined up on our schedule page right here.

- Follow our social channels for information about where our streams will be happening.

- Join our Discord channel to chat with other fans (coming soon!).

- Some good snacks - probably.

Panels


Will there be panels?

Going “online” generally means the addition of Streamed Content, and boy have we got that covered. Lots of channels’ worth, to be exact, with literally nonstop content running non-stop each and every day In addition to digital adaptations of the panels, concerts, and competitions that pack our theatres at a traditional PAX/EGX style, we’ve got some new and exciting stuff as well as a few surprises planned, thanks to both our friends in Australia as well as our EGX friends in London bring you even more special content. Is there a place to talk about panels?

Our Discord server will have channels dedicated to each stream, both for live discussion, and continuing discussions involving panel content. We’re also strongly encouraging our presenters to be a part of the Discord server during their sessions, so there’s a good chance they’ll be there to provide additional context and answer any additional questions you may have. Or if you would like, you can take to our social channels to talk about the amazing content you are witnessing from the comfort of your own home.


Are the panels live?

Some are, some aren’t...we pretape whenever possible for the best quality and to minimize technical challenges, but there’s always those panels that really must be done live.


Is there a way to ask followup questions for the panellists?

Maybe! If the session has been pre-recorded, there’s a good chance they’ll be in the Discord server specifically to answer questions, provide additional information, and otherwise be available. Your mileage may vary, of course, but that’s the best bet.


Gaming


Are there tournaments?

You know it! Tournaments are a little trickier online, so we don’t have quite as many tournaments as we normally have at an in person event, but we’ve still got a pretty solid lineup. Check them all out here. You should also know that PAX Arena will be a part of this show, and you can get more information on that here.


Can I play games with other attendees?

Our Friends over at PAX, have set up a Discord server that’s fully equipped with a Looking for Group system so you can find new friends to play any game you want with.


I’m having a problem with Discord, can you help?

Probably not? But they have their own FAQ on their site that may be able to help. When you do get it working, make sure to pay attention to our Discord rules which you can find here.

Is there merch available?

You bet there’s merch available! We have all the limited-edition goodies you could dream of, from hoodies and t-shirts to face masks and water bottles. Plus, there’s exclusive Dicebreaker, Outside Xbox, and Eurogamer tees too. Head over to the EGX store and be amazed by our wicked selection of gamer garb.


When will merch I order today ship?

For most items your order will be shipped next working day. Where that is different we have done our best to let you in the product descriptions. If you've been waiting over a week for your order, please get in touch and we'll be happy to check in on it.


Is there Limited Edition EGX Digital merch?

We have exclusives available which are limited run products in collaboration with some of our favourite video gaming websites. Otherwise, all product in the store is limited and once it's out of stock it will no longer be available anymore.

Oxventure Q&A Panel


Wait what…!? There is an Oxventure Q&A Panel...tell me more.

You can join the mostly bold and occasionally brave Oxventurers Andy, Jane, Luke, Mike and Ellen, plus long suffering dungeon master Johnny, for a special Q&A panel taking place as part of Pax Online x EGX Digital.


So I can ask questions like “Is Cthulhu Dad proud of Prudence?”, “How does Merilwen choose her animal forms?” “What the hell, Egbert?” That sort of thing?

Precisely!


When is this happening?

Monday September 14th at 7pm BST | 11am PST | 2pm EDT


How can I take part?

The Q&A is a ticketed event operated by our partner Growtix. Simply head here and get yourself a ticket before they are gone.


A ticket you say, how much would that cost me?

$10 (USD). That’s ten of your finest dollars.


No extra fees I need to cover?

Nope, just the $10 for the ticket.


Ok I’ve bought my ticket, what do I need now to actually participate in this event?

- Your order confirmation email for your purchase of the Q&A

- A reliable internet connection

- A supported web browser - Chrome, Firefox (for Android or Linux), Safari 11 (iOS), Chrome Firefox or Safari 11 (macOS), Chrome, Firefox or Edge (Windows)


How does the Q&A work?

Admission gives you entry into a Q&A session to view at the time the Q&A starts and thereafter on-demand viewership of the Q&A for the duration of the PAX Online x EGX Digital, so up until 20th Sept.

Once you make your purchase, you will get an order confirmation email from Growtix. To access the Q&A, click on the “View Your Order Online” button in that email and you will be brought to a confirmation webpage. When you scroll down to the “Your Order” section, you will see a rectangle containing the Q&A details. 1 hour prior to the Q&A start time, there will be an active link for you to click to gain access.


I purchased an admission to the Q&A but didn’t receive an email confirmation for my purchase.

First up, be sure to check your spam and junk folders to see if the confirmation email is there from tickets@growtix.com. If not, we will be happy to resend the confirmation to you. Just send us an email to support@growtix.com.


Can I buy more than one admission to the Q&A?

Yes for sure, we allow purchases of multiple admissions.


What time should I log in to the Q&A?

Please make sure you are ready to join the event at the designated time. The link will be live 1 hour prior to the Q&A start time. All admission times are listed in Eastern Daylight Time and British Summer Time (which at the time of the event is GMT+1), so if you live outside of these time zones, please make sure you are aware of that time difference.You can find a time zone converter here.


Can I have my family and/or friends/pets join me during the Q&A?

Others are welcome if they are in the same physical location as you and on the same device, but another person would not be able to “virtually” join the Q&A from a different location. To join from a different location they will need to purchase a separate ticket. Please be mindful of current social distancing rules; we do not advise taking part in a watch along with someone outside of your household.


Can I take pictures or record the session?

That’s a straight no. Photos or recording of the Q&A are not allowed.


I had technical difficulties, or I lost my connection, or something came up and I had to leave. This resulted in my missing the Q&A. Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer refunds if you miss the Q&A for any reason, so please make sure you are prepared before the session begins. Once the Q&A has finished we will leave it available as an on-demand video for the duration of the PAX Online x EGX Digital event just in case you missed the start time.


I’m not good with technology, are you able to provide technical assistance or advice?

If something goes wrong during the Q&A, technical assistance will be provided. We unfortunately cannot offer any outside assistance and ask that those who purchase have or develop a working knowledge of the technology involved.

The Oxventure crew had to cancel. Will I be refunded?

Absolutely. In the unlikely event that something unforeseen happens and prevents the team from participating in the Q&A, aside from one of them having to step away for a few minutes to deal with something happening in their home, we will automatically refund the full amount of your purchase to your original form of payment. No action is needed on your part. We will send out an email to inform you of the refund. Please allow 5 business days for it to show on your statement.
